CLINICAL NURSE DIRECTOR FOR LEADERSHIP & QUALITY Remote Based (with some travel to attend meetings) Permanent & Full Time Reporting to Chief Operating Officer EMPLOYEE BENEFITS* 23 days annual leave + bank holidays, raising to 28 days (increasing upon length of service) Home Working Allowance Summer & Winter Company Day Private Medical Insurance Blue Light Card Eligible Cycle to Work Life Assurance Enhanced Parental Leave Company Pension Eyesight Tests Refer a Friend Bonus Employee Assistance Programme Liaison Latte (weekly expensed coffee & cake) Give as You Earn *List not exhaustive JOB SUMMARY The Clinical Nurse Director plays a crucial role in the Care Division's leadership team, focusing on delivering high-quality care and enhancing patient and caregiver experiences.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), you will provide strategic clinical direction for operational teams whilst focusing on leadership, workforce management, professional development, and training.
PRINCIPAL TASKS & ACTIVITIES Provide leadership and direction for the management, education, training, and development of nursing and social work staff.
Oversee daily clinical operations of client programs through the management of the Delivery Managers (Band 8b).
Develop the Clinical Quality Improvement Strategy and associated policies to ensure all services are person-centred and meet CHC framework requirements, with a commitment to ongoing service development and quality improvement.
Use specialist knowledge and experience of CHC and healthcare services, to assure the Board, Transformation and Commercial Teams in consideration of product development and the expansion of service offerings.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulation is in place and professional development and training opportunities are available, both for registered nurses and registered social workers.
Implement, monitor, and analyse outcomes to ensure the continuation of a high-quality patient centric service.
Identify areas for improvement and work collaboratively to implement necessary changes.
Be the escalation point for any safeguarding concerns or clinical disputes and attend client meetings if required to provide clinical input.
Represent the Company in any agreed multi-agency forums.
May be required to undertake Caldicott Guardian responsibilities.
Keep up to date about statutory and professional changes and ensure this information is effectively communicated to all relevant parties.
EXPERIENCE Considerable experience at a senior level in a community or ICB level or similar roles within the private sector.
Experience of managing teams, including professional development and conduct issues.
Experience of managing a range of nursing staff at different bands.
Experience of collaborating with patients and families to improve their experiences.
A minimum of 5 years' experience in a leadership or management role.
Excellent working knowledge of CHC and supporting regulatory frameworks.
Experience at Senior Management Level at Board/Sub Board level in a commissioning capacity such as an ICB or predecessor organisation.
Proven ability to lead and motivate clinical teams in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with quality assurance processes, performance improvement initiatives and leading and managing clinical change.
SKILLS, COMPETENCIES & QUALIFICATIONS Ability to build and develop teams and maintain constructive working relationships.
Ability to analyse and resolve complex issues.
Excellent interpersonal, managerial, organisational, and influencing skills.
Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills.
Ability to lead a team and quickly build integrity and credibility.
Ability to manage competing priorities and work to numerous action plans at once.
Essential Qualifications: Registered Nurse – Level 1 with valid NMC registration.
Evidence of professional and managerial development, which meets NMC requirements.
Management or leadership qualification.
Desirable Qualifications: Additional Registered Qualification appropriate specialities e.g.
RGN, RM Higher Management degree / diploma.
