Job summary Band 8A Child and Adolescent PsychotherapistWe are looking for people to apply who have a clear passion to want to make a difference, are motivated and enthused about working with young people and families.
We are a service that is known for being creative and responsive to the needs of our young people, who no matter what level of need to support their emotional well-being and mental health receive the right support as they need it.

This will give you a better overview of the job role and requirements.You will be a qualified psychotherapist with current registration with the ACP professional body.
You will hold a caseload of young people with complex mental health needs and will take responsibility for providing assessments and therapeutic treatment programmes.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Professional knowledge acquired through degree supplemented by diploma level specialist training, management qualification or equivalent and experience Relevant qualification or significant experience in relevant clinical children's field, Master's level pre-clinical training at a training school recognised by the Association of Child Psychotherapist (ACP) and post-graduate training at doctoral level in clinical child psychotherapy at a training school accredited by the ACP.
Knowledge and Skills Essential Understanding of child development and family functioning Knowledge of the range of young people's mental health problems and mental health services Working knowledge of health, social services, education and the voluntary sector, together with the relevant legislation regarding both children and mental health Knowledge of key policy and guidance relating to Children and young people.
Experience Essential Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention and management frequently requiring sustained and intense concentration.
Well developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS.
Skills in providing consultation to other professional and non-professional groups.
Knowledge of research methodology, research design and complex, multivariate data analysis as practiced within Psychotherapy.
