As our Chief Finance Officer, you will share collective accountability for the delivery of our strategy and the development of the Trust, and play a key role in enabling us to achieve financial sustainability. You will ensure our financial systems offer a major contribution to the health of the population and aim to reduce inequalities in service provision. We take culture seriously, so you will take a proactive role in modelling the desired leadership behaviours to ensure we create and maintain the culture and conditions to empower people to work across organisational boundaries, in multi-disciplinary teams, in service of our strategic priorities and our patients.
Main duties of the jobWe're seeking a leader with significant experience at a senior level, who brings a supportive, nurturing, and facilitative approach that allows others to come forward and succeed. You will have robust knowledge of NHS processes, relationships and culture, and demonstrable experience in the delivery of change whilst maintaining financial standards. Importantly, too, you will have experience of developing the services of an organisation to deliver long-term sustainable and customer-focused provision.

Person SpecificationQualificationsMasters level qualification relevant to postFully Qualified AccountantSkillsHigh level management and leadership skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.ExperienceSenior Finance position held within a public sector organisationExtensive knowledge of the operating environment and performance standards within the NHS; legal, service and quality constraints/requirements; quality improvement methodologies.Substantial experience in CFO/Director of Finance or as a Deputy Director of FinanceNHS experience at Board level.Disclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
