CFD Consultant Glasgow Reference number #2064 The Opportunity IES offer you opportunity to be part of our international consulting team in which to build and progress a career in building simulation along with the ability to develop both personally and professionally. The successful candidate will primarily be performing CFD projects for our external clients in a number of CFD meshers and solvers. The role will include opportunity to provide customer support, technical insights and software training to customers.
The Candidate We are looking for candidates with a degree in mechanical engineering along with hands-on experience of working with CFD simulations. A higher degree in a relevant subject would be advantageous. Experience of using industry prevalent CFD packages and modelling software is essential. The candidate will also be expected to have a general understanding of fluid mechanics, heat transfer and radiation. It would also be an advantage to have knowledge of the use of CFD within the built environment.
Essential: 2-3 years CFD experience. Building physics knowledge and experience – such as datacentres, external wind flow simulation, etc. Experience of communicating with clients on presentation of model and results. Assist interpreting client requirements and producing CFD project proposals. Producing high quality reports for clients. Experience of using CFD packages such as Ansys, Cadence Reality DC Design Pro (formerly 6SigmaDCX), Star CCM+, OpenFOAM, or similar. Geometry modelling tools such as SketchUp, Rhino, Revit (preferable), etc. Desirable: Interpreting architectural, MEP and similar specialist materials and drawings. Python scripting.
