About the Service Amber Wood is a state of the art dementia-specialist residential care home based in Burton-on-Trent. As one of GreenSquareAccord`s Dementia Centre of Excellent, it offers specialist care and support in first-class facilities for people living with dementia and complex needs. The home has been built and designed with sterling standards specifically to meet the needs of people living with dementia, Amber Wood can provide care for up to 45 individuals across 3 different households, each with a communal kitchen where customers can get involved with daily living tasks as they would at home as well as communal living areas including a cinema room, dining room and lounge area. Each household have there own private court yard as well as a large communal garden, each bedroom has an accessible en-suite for each customers personal use, Our community hub area offers a shop, coffee bar, hair dressers and events room that is accessible by customer and families.
In your new role, you will: Build relationships with Residents, which are open and two way Support Residents to undertake their daily routines Establish methods of communication with residents, reducing barriers when necessary Accurately report and/or record work activities Support with activities of daily living & personal care Assist residents with mealtimes where necessary. You will ideally have: Experience working within a Care environment (Advantageous but not essential as full induction training will be given) A warm hearted, friendly manner, patience, kindness and good communication, a willingness to help others, requiring patience An open and honest character, respectful and celebrate diversity, connect with colleagues and residents to celebrate uniqueness The ability to be a natural care giver and someone who can communicate in an open and honest manner with your colleagues, residents and their visitors Benefits In support and recognition of our colleagues who will help us deliver our employer strategy, we offer a fantastic benefits package.
