Cardiac Rehabilitation Exercise Physiologist

Job summary Exercise Physiologist, one year fixed term contract, assisting in the implementation and auditing of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Programme in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team.
This post will include patient functional capacity and mobility assessments, leading individual and group exercise and education, modifying individual exercise programmes for co-morbidities and physical limitations as appropriate Main duties of the job Deliver, develop and maintain safe and effective group exercise sessions for patients with a wide range of cardiovascular conditions and work within the standards and protocols set by the BACPR and ACPICR To use clinical reasoning and evidence based practise to risk stratify and deliver individual and group exercise programmes, and recommendations for patients based on specialist knowledge.

Job description Job responsibilities To understand and apply clinical governance and clinical risk management principles to your own caseload Demonstrate the ability to co-ordinate the cardiac rehabilitation service in absence of the Band 6 Cardiac Rehabilitation Physiotherapist and Cardiac Rehab Team Leaders.
To ensure timely communication of assessment findings, treatment and outcomes to other disciplines through the provision of reports and letters etc.
To refer appropriately to MDT colleagues or services as clinical need requires.
Participate and deliver cardiac rehabilitation exercise and lifestyle education programme in a variety of settings and locations.

Undertake local and national audit.
Research and evaluate the effectiveness of exercise and physical activity using observational methods and outcomes measures to assist in the development of service delivery and own clinical practice.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential oMSc in Clinical Exercise Physiology oBSc in Clinical Exercise Physiology oRCCP registration Desirable Basic Life Support Experience Essential delivering and adapting exercise to complex and/or cardiac patients Desirable hospital setting experience experience of outcome measures Knowledge Essential Knowledge of national and local strategies including BACPR and ACPICR Knowledge of functional testing and exercise prescription Desirable experience of clinical audit and the principles of clinical governance Personal Skills Essential Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to autonomously prioritise and organise workload and manage time effectively.
Desirable High level of computer literacy with good use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Video Conferencing Platforms
