Job summary The post holder will work as a member of The Single Point of Access Team for Rochdale CAMHS, being co-located in a busy multidisciplinary office.
As part of the Single Point of Access the post holder will support the team to screen, triage and outcome referrals into Mental Health Services for Children and Adolescents, and manage risk accordingly, consulting with families and professionals.
Main duties of the job The post holder will work within the Single Point of Access enabling parents, teachers, education psychology services, school support staff and other professionals across all children's and young people's services to get easy access to signposting, advice, support and urgent care, where necessary.The successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate excellent understanding of the delivery of the child and adolescent mental health services and be able to manage and assess risk effectively, providing risk support to professionals, children and familiesThe post holder will also have experience in screening referrals and decision making in terms of appropriate pathways, along with excellent risk management skills.

To deliver therapeutic input to children and young people referred to the team.
To be responsible for and manage a defined caseload and undertake casemanagement responsibilities within the caseload.
To identify and develop strategies to manage risk to the child and others in line with Pennine care and CAMHS procedures and protocols.
To liaise closely with a wide range of agencies regarding individual carepackages and to promote awareness of child and adolescent mental healthissues within these agencies.
Undertake liaison and joint work with other professionals outside of the MDT To provide consultation and training on a wide range of childrens emotional health and well-being issues to professionals from a range of services including GPs, Early Help and Primacy Care Services, Adult Mental Health Services, Youth Offending Services and Education Services.
To provide urgent mental health advice following triage of referrals into SPOA, inline with Pennine care protocols to both advise other professionals regarding risk and work with them to develop a plan of care for the child Person Specification Education / Qualifications Essential NMC nursing or social work or equivalent Health /social care qualification Significant post qualification experience in community mental health services to post graduate diploma level Experience Essential Professional involvement with the users of mental health services.
Experience of case management of young people Experience of multi-agency working Desirable Experience of relating to young people in a group or community setting.
Knowledge Essential Knowledge of mental health issues in young people Knowledge of relevant legislation and National policies in relation to young people Knowledge of therapeutic interventions with young people Desirable Understanding of Youth Offending services.
Knowledge of drug and alcohol issues relating to young people Skills and Abilities Essential Ability to undertake appropriate mental health assessments Ability to carry out therapeutic interventions with this client group Ability to work well with a team Ability to manage a caseload effectively Ability to work independently Ability to work creatively and flexibly in a clinical context Work Related Circumstances Essential Appointments to regulated and controlled activities require an enhanced DBS disclosure Willing to carry out all duties and responsibilities of the post in accordance with the Trust's Equal Opportunities and Equality and Diversity policies Use of a car or access to a means of mobility to travel across the Trust footprint in line with service needs Occasional evening and weekend working may be necessary
