About you: Are you looking for a new role in establishing a robust reliable communication network?
We are searching for a Cabling Ganger who has worked in a similar role previously to come and join us.
The role: The Cabling Ganger will deliver structured Fibre Optic infrastructure projects for Fibre FTTP network delivery throughout the UK.
You are responsible for the physical installation of fibre optic cable systems working closely with our Project Managers and Engineers.
You must be happy to cover day and night shifts.
Day shifts are 8am to 4pm and night shifts are 8pm to 4am.
More specifically, you will be: Setting up traffic safety measures and signs for road works and temporary situations Undertaking site risk assessments and method statements prior to commencement of each project Reading and interpreting box to box diagrams, duct plans, network diagrams and schematics, maps and drawing to understand routes, utilities and make A55n, Box to Box photos and reports and accustomed in line with PIA Openreach network Understanding the risk and hazards and noting any changes from previous risk assessment and method statements Undertaking works to set job packs and network design and install of fibre cables.
Undertaking test Rod, Rope Cabling within the Openreach network ensuring compliance with open reach network processes and technical requirements Labelling in accordance with Openreach requirements at entry and exit points, taking photographs as required for completing as built documentation.
Undertaking vehicle checks at the beginning and end of shift ensuring all vehicle checks are fully documented and reported in line with the vehicle and drivers' policy.
Responsible for checking and testing equipment, reporting and replacing faulty equipment.
Skills and experience: Previous experience in Fibre Optic infrastructure and competent in installation of cabling Previous experience of risk assessments, method statements and reading and interpreting project specification documents and drawings Good working knowledge of BT Openreach PIA network, standards and processes Experience of working under permits Excellent communication skills Ability to manage stakeholder expectations Working knowledge of Health and Safety practices within telecommunications Qualifications: Full UK driving licence SA002 certification NRWSA ticket GCSE grade 4-9 in English and Maths Preferably a Certified Fibre Optic Technician (CFOT) Why Trooli?
