Business Integration Lead

Details of the offer

About the role… We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Lead to spearhead strategic industry-wide initiatives within the FTR Programme. This role is crucial in optimizing day-to-day operations and driving impactful change across the organisation.

The role requires a proactive and strategic individual to lead coordination and engagement across the FTR programme, working closely with the leadership team and key industry partners, including GBRTT, DfT, RDG, and others. Your role will be essential in delivering key outcomes, enhancing decision-making, and fostering policy leadership and cross-industry alignment. You will help cultivate a 'one team, one plan' mentality to accelerate progress toward successful delivery of the FTR programme.

A bit about the team… The Fares, Ticketing and Retail programme aims to transform the customer retail experience and deliver a rail retail revolution. We are working across the industry to make retailing simpler and better for customers, improve the railway's profitability, and establish a retailing environment where continuous improvement is easy.

This is a once in a generation opportunity to be part of a team delivering on improving the things which customers regularly identify as a priority to fix. Our projects aim to give customers the confidence that they can easily book a journey in a way which best suits them, pay the best value price, access accurate travel information, and receive exceptional aftercare service. We believe an excellent customer retail experience is key to ensuring long term sustainability of our railways.

What you'll bring… Essential Excellent communication and influencing skills, including proven experience and knowledge of the complexities of senior stakeholder management, with the ability to understand the audience, tailor outputs, and communicate clearly. Strategic mind with strong execution power: able to see the bigger picture (without losing sight of detail). Action-oriented with the tenacity to get things agreed. Strong interpersonal skills, possessing the ability to interact and maintain credibility with people at all levels across the business and industry stakeholders. Proven ability to synthesise complex information, understand and identify risks and opportunities. Ability to work at pace, managing multiple pressures from different senior leaders, delegating appropriately, and ensuring high-quality work is delivered to tight deadlines. Experience within a senior leadership environment, with the ability to constructively challenge, speak frankly and motivate directors towards a consensus. Ability to establish collaborative cross-team and cross-sector relationships and act as an ambassador for cultural change across organisations, bringing together diverse views and perspectives. Sound commercial understanding, with experience of resource planning, managing a budget, and building strategic narratives to unlock funding. Desirable Proven experience of collaboration in the rail industry and at government level. Experience of working in commercial and public sector organisations. Experience leading a large team in an uncertain environment. This role is available on a Fixed Term Contract or Secondment for 12 months.

We're an inclusive employer of choice and welcome applications from everyone. For this specific role, there is an expectation to be able to come to our London or Derby office for a minimum of two days per week. We encourage people to work flexibly and we're open to hybrid working! We'll also try our best to adapt the recruitment process and offer a reasonable alternative to help support people with disabilities.
