Full time (40 hrs)PermanentClosing date: 1 December 2024The roleWe are looking for a maintenance bricklayer to join our friendly Response team as they undertake a variety of tasks across our social housing properties.Whilst this role will require solid experience in brickwork, your time will be split between bricklaying and numerous other tasks, including fencing, concreting, groundworks and landscaping.Our properties are located across the Melksham and Trowbridge area.
Alongside excellent benefits, you will also receive a company vehicle and fuel card to cover your travel to and from site.On any given day you may find yourself:Removing walls and ceilingsCarrying out repairs and alterations to existing stone, walling, pointing, screeding, and drainage constructionFencingLaying tarmac, patio slabs, concrete paths, key clamp rails and carrying out adaptation worksDecorating and simple joinery tasksIdentifying, quantifying and sourcing required materials.What we needTo do well in this role, it would be good if you had the following skills and experience:Approachable and self-motivated, capable of motivating others through effective working relationshipsCollaborative team player who recognises the value of good working relationships with othersCity in Guilds/ NVQ level 2 in bricklaying / trowel occupations or equivalent demonstrable experienceAbility to manage own workload and manage time effectivelyWho we areSelwood Housing Group is a not-for-profit housing association committed to providing affordable local homes for our customers.
