Do you have time and flexibility to work across a range of services on an as and when basis as clinical demand arises?
Do you have experience of working in a similar environment?
If so, this is an exciting opportunity to work across Tees, Esk and Wear Valley's Adult Mental Health, Learning Disability and Older Peoples' inpatient services in Teesside, County Durham and North Yorkshire.
Successful applicants will be required to complete a mandatory training programme within 8 weeks of commencement, which will provide the necessary skills to work effectively and safely within our unique services.
This is approximately 8 days of training and includes 5 consecutive days of face to face training in Positive and Safe Care.
It is therefore essential that applicants ensure that they can commit to this prior to applying.
We wish to recruit individuals with experience in a care setting, who have experience of supporting service users during challenging times, and who are flexible and enthusiastic with a positive caring attitude towards our client group.
The role is varied and will include all aspects of care from promoting care plan delivery systems ensuring choice and client independence.
Main duties of the job To provide the best possible experience for patients/clients/carers and families.To assist in the delivery of patient care as directed by the nurse in charge of the unit/ward, undertaking duties and activities, with limited or indirect supervision.Communicate with patients, carers and families in order to facilitate the implementation of care plans as a member of the care team.Communicate with patients with mental ill health and/or learning disabilities, and their carers, overcoming barriers to understanding by effective listening and observation.To assist patients in the provision of personal careIdentify change in patients/clients presentation and act, report and record appropriately.Complete assessment tools.Participate in the observation and engagement of patients as delegated by qualified staffTo accompany and provide support to patients away from clinical area dependent on contemporaneous risk assessment and as delegated by qualified staff.
To include: social inclusion/community integration/transfer to and from appropriate areas eg.
acute hospitals, police stations etc.Make an electronic case note entry from own clinical observations of patient.
Complete assessment tools and accurately summarise within patient care recordsTo promote at all times a positive image of people with mental health conditions and learning disabilities.To promote at all times a positive image of the Temporary Staffing Service and the wider Trust.
