Job summary Here at Heartlands Hospital we have an exciting opportunity to join our team of 10 Echocardiographers.
As a large DGH we have 6 echo rooms within the hospital and support echo services within a newly opened community diagnostic centre.
Full time members of staff operate over a 4 day working week between hours 8-6 and use both Phillips and GE, 2D and 3D technology with ISCV reporting facilities.Current Echocardiographer-led services include: bubble, LV contrast , valve-surveillance clinics, Echocardiographer-led Tran-oesophageal echo and are working towards Echocardiographer-led stress echo servicesWe actively encourage staff CPD and offer a range of developmental opportunities in clinical and non-clinical areas to include, course/conference attendance, management and leadership development programs, teaching , training and assessment qualifications.As part of a large trust we have good relationships with all 3 additional hospital sites and support a range of training programs to include: PTP, STP,ETP as well as in house echo trainees.
As a trust we have an have excellent track record for supporting people through the BSE accreditation to include: Adult TTE, TOE, Stress and EACVI CHD accreditation.
Main duties of the job As part of your role you will perform and report adult transthoracic echocardiograms to support inpatient and outpatient services.
You may assist or train to perform/lead advanced echo procedures such as bubble and LV contrast studies, stress and transoesphageal echocardiograms.
In addition, you will support Outpatient clinics at a nearby community diagnostic centre on a rotational basis.
Our department offers a 4-day working week between the hours of 8-6.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential BSc in Clinical Physiology (or equivalent) or Masters in Cardiac Science or equivalent Highly specialist knowledge of Clinical Physiology in at least one area to Masters level or equivalent.
Adult TTE BSE Accreditation RCCP /AHCS Registered or able to register.
Experience Essential Experience and scientific knowledge through formal study, training and practice in highly complex and specialized Cardiac investigations.
(E) Supervisory experience.
Experience in the use of PCs and data entry.
Experience of Cardiology IT storage systems.
