Job summary We are recruiting for Radiographers graduating in 2025, or experienced radiographers looking to join our exceptional team at UHB.With over 100 staff providing world class radiotherapy treatment, the service is of the highest calibre ensuring exemplary patient care is given to over 300 patients per day.Now is a fantastic time for any aspiring Radiographer to join our team and get your career off to a flying start.
You will be joining us at a time where the department has undergone significant change with the implementation of new programmes of work aimed directly at supporting our excellent Radiographers in their personal development and career will mould you into confident, highly motivated, and forward-thinking Radiographers supporting your passion for patient care and service development.Successful applicants will be joining a team that delivers one of the highest percentages of IG-IMRT treatments in the and treats a large number of SABR patients for all commissioned indications.
Our breast patients are treated with SGRT, & DIBH is offered to all appropriate patients who have left sided breast are one of two leading centres delivering radiotherapy for paediatrics in the Midlands that specialises in SGRT, intensity-modulated TBI& CSRT.In addition, we are also a reference site for VisionRT and Accuray.
Main duties of the job Whether direct from qualifying, or joining us with experience, you will be supported and developed to enable you to confidently manage a clinical workload ensuring that all treatments and procedures are delivered safely and correctly whilst maintaining high standards of technical ability and patient care.You will join a Radiography team under the supervision of Senior Radiographers and deliver radiotherapy treatment using highly specialist equipment whilst providing information, education, practical and emotional support to patients and carers during their radiotherapy journey.We have a variety of specialised equipment including two Phillips CT scanners, CyberKnife, two Tomotherapy HD units, Radixact, HDR, and six Elekta linear accelerators all of which have AlignRT installed.
You will have opportunities to be rotated throughout the various treatment rooms we have.All new staff will have a flexible approach to working hours to accommodate service demands as there is a requirement to routinely cover extended day working Monday to Friday between to 8pm and occasional bank holidays and weekends.

Diploma of the College of Radiographers -- Therapy / Degree in Therapeutic Radiography) (E) *Current state registration (E) Experience Essential *Experience of participating in a clinical team (as a qualified radiographer or as a student) with evidence of working with a team of radiographers.
(E) *Specialist knowledge of cancer pathology and disease patterns (E) *Specialist knowledge of clinical radiotherapy including potential radiation risks, acute patient side effects and their effective management (E) *An active awareness of relevant legislation, national cancer standards and professional guidelines (E) Additional Criteria Essential *Very good technical and manual dexterity skills required to physically operate equipment in a field of rapid technological change (E) *Good numerical skills for calculating and checking complex treatment plans (E) *Ability to communicate articulately (written, verbal and non-verbal) and provide information across professional boundaries (E) *Good reasoning skills and an ability to use initiative and judgment in situations where there is a variance from routine/expected (E) *Approachable (E) *Professional (E) *Reliable and punctual (E) *Team worker (E) *Ability to participate in extended hours and bank holiday working (E)
