If you answer yes, then this could be the job for you.The successful candidate will assist Doctors/Nurses in providing patients with a high-quality standard of holistic care.
You must be able to demonstrate that you have the relevant clinical experience and have worked as a Band 2 Health Care Assistant in an acute setting.
The job provides a critical role in the initial assessment of patient's attending the Emergency Department and will require the use of extended skills such as Venepuncture, Cannulation, recording of ECG's and the application of plaster casts to limbs.
The successful candidate will need to provide evidence of competence in these skills.
Main duties of the job The post holder works as part of the ward/ department team under the supervision of registered nurses and:*Participates in the delivery of patient centred care, maintaining a compassionate and professional attitude at all times.
*Contributes to the ward/department organisation.
*Support registered nurses in the provision of caring and safe environment.
*Where appropriate to area, Co-ordinate the work of Band 2 Health Care Assistances when/if they are on duty.
*Supervise and assist in the training of Band 2 Health Care Assistances and staff undertaking work experience placements in health.The post holder will demonstrate a level of skill and understanding which enables them to undertake specific tasks delegated by the nurse in charge and in accordance with relevant procedures, guidelines and policies.
They will undertake both routine and specially identified tasks for which they have been trained and assessed as competent.
