\nWhat you'll be doing:
\n\nDeveloping sound technical solutions to issues arising during construction and commissioning of a Naval Plant Reactor\nSupport or act as the engineering member of the test and authorisation groups (depending on experience)\nSpecialise in EC&I discipline \nAuthor Chief Engineer Declaration Statements based on engineering review of the as-built/as-tested status of the plant to support entry into nuclear build phase\nCarry out nuclear safety assessment of submarine design changes and deviations from the submarine design intent\nEnsuring the design intent of the Naval Reactor Plant is maintained during build and text activities on site \nProviding technical rationale and sound engineering recommendations to Rolls-Royce and MoD to challenge existing requirements\nProving an interface with Build/Test teams for engineering solutions\nEnabling efficient programme execution with engineering solutions \n\nYour skills and experiences:
\nEssential:
\n\nDegree qualified Electrical Engineering or Control and Instrumentation Engineering \nExperience of supporting build and commissioning of Electrical and/or Control Systems \nDemonstrable understanding of 3 phase/single phase machines; digital and analogue based control systems and mechanical interfaces\nTechnical report writing skills\n\nDesirable:
\n\nExperience of justifying design change, ideally on a Nuclear Plant \nPrevious Nuclear Plant experience \nKnowledge of the Nuclear Industry and Nuclear Regulations (or other highly regulated industry)\nExposure to Microsoft Office Suite \n\nBenefits:

\nThe Platform Nuclear Engineering Department team:
\nAs a Principal Engineer – Nuclear (EC&I), you will be supporting the design, build and test activities on the Naval Reactor Plant (NRP) across multiple programmes to ensure the design intent is met in the final product.
This includes coordinating and leading the resolution of a diverse set of issues that arise during the build and test of the reactor plant, with a strong emphasis on developing technical solutions to problems, as well as ensuring that the associated safety case is adequate, couple with providing advice to various internal teams such as Engineering Delivery, Test & Commissioning, Operations and Project.
Externally, you will be required to represent the business and operate alongside our Enterprise partners, namely the Ministry of Defence (Mod) and Rolls-Royce Marine Power.
