Scot JCB is the largest JCB distributor in the UK and we pride ourselves on providing our customers with world class service.This apprenticeship involves:Attending Reaseheath college on block release and completing course work as required.
You'll graduate with an NVQ Level 3 in Land Based Service EngineeringWorking alongside engineers in the workshop and out on siteCarrying out PDI's on new machinesCarrying out repairs to second-hand machinesBuilding up experience over 4 years to work towards working from your own vanAdhering to company policies and proceduresWorking flexibly to support the needs of our customers, including SaturdaysYou'll learn how to:Repair and maintain machines on customers sites as required with manufacturers specificationCarry out inspections and repairs of machines at our depot as requiredIdentify any deficiency or defect likely to affect the safe working of a machine, and raise this with your supervisorComplete job cards and time sheetsOrder parts for the jobs you are working onBuild relationships with your supervisor and other engineersThe ideal candidate will have:Genuine interest in machinery and hands on workPredicted or achieved level 4 grades in Maths and EnglishThe ability to work well with others and be confident enough to ask engineers questionsGood interpersonal skills and a good understanding of the importance of excellent customer serviceGood computer skillsA positive and can-do attitudeA flexible approach to learning and workIn return you will receive: Yearly salary review39-hour basic working week and competitive overtime ratesAverage holiday pay to reflect overtime worked30 days annual leave, increasing with length of service up to a total of 35 daysThe option to buy/sell up to 5 days annual leave per yearUniform, overalls, and computer tabletHealth and wellbeing plan - cashback for dentist, opticians, physio and moreEmployee Assistance Programme - free counselling and legal adviceAccess to high street discounts and savings through PerksContributory pension schemeLife assurance of three times your annual salaryEmployee referral programmeJCB and in-house trainingWe will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis and may close the vacancy early if a suitable candidate is found.
