Anticoagulation Nurse Specialist - Team Leader

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and motivated person to join the Anticoagulation Team at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust - based at Hinchingbrooke Hospital, but covering at Peterborough City Hospital as required.
Main duties of the job This post will be working indirectly with the Haematology Consultants and directly with the Lead Nurse - Anticoagulation and VTE Prevention. The job holder will be responsible for the day to day management and organisation of both inpatient and outpatient anticoagulation services, outpatient DVT service and its team members. There will be strong working links with other specialist nurses, GPs and community teams. There will be an expectation to assist with training and development of policies and guidelines relating to this specialised area.

Job responsibilities To promote and facilitate a continuous supportive anticoagulation service across the Hospital and Community setting. To be a member of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) for all aspects of anticoagulation. Person Specification Education Essential RN Adult or equivalent with NMC registration. Evidence of professional training and development and its relevance to the specialty. Recognised teaching/mentoring qualification or evidence of teaching experience. Recognised anticoagulation qualification. Post graduate qualification or evidence of ability to work at such a level. Experience Essential Minimum of 2 years' experience within the specialty with the ability to demonstrate up-to-date evidence-based practice. Evidence of managing clinical change. Experience in an acute setting. Desirable Participation in audit or research. Knowledge Essential Excellent theoretical and practical knowledge within anticoagulation. Skills Essential Good IT skills with the ability to use MS Office. Familiarity with the DAWN database and an ability to troubleshoot.
