Job summary Blandford Medical Centre has a fantastic opportunity for an advanced nurse practitioner to join our busy training practice to work closely with a great team of supportive clinicians.
The successful candidate will support our busy triage team in booking and allocating appointments as well as running their own clinic in the afternoon.
Main duties of the job Independently prescribing appropriate medication, evaluating and referring to other specialists and services as necessary.
Manage patients presenting with a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions.
Implement specialist treatment plans for chronic disease patients.
Provide advanced specialist care to patients as required.
Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure read codes are used effectively.
Support the team with clinical emergencies.
Request and review pathology test/results.
Review and update clinical letters and discharge summaries.

Desirable Experience working in primary care.
Systm One experience would also be preferred but is not essential as training can be provided.
Use of AccuRx or PATCHs total triage systems would be beneficial.
Qualifications Essential Be a registered first level nurse, MSc or equivalent, holding current registration with the NMC Master degree level qualification Hold an independent prescriber qualification Hold a mentor/teaching qualification Have clinical supervision training
