Job summary We have an exciting new career development for an enthusiastic and highly motivated pharmacist to join our Pharmacy team at Singleton hospital in Swansea Bay University Health Board.
You will work as part of a dynamic pharmacy team across various settings.
We are looking for a pharmacist to provide a pharmacy service to wards and dispensary.
You will be involved with various new projects and initiatives to develop our service in a changing landscape whilst always ensuring safe and effective medicines management for our patients.
Singleton is the Centre of Excellence for Cancer for South West Wales, Women's and Children's Health including maternity services and NICU are also a large directorate on site with the addition of surgery, ophthalmology, dermatology, HIV & sexual health.
You will be supported to develop and grow in this position as part of a supportive pharmacy team.
You must have excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
Main duties of the job The post holder will be responsible for providing a ward service and leading the pharmacy team in the area, managing the day-to-day requirements of the service, working closely with pharmacy colleagues, nursing staff, and other members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care to in-patients.
Proactive provision of timely, evidence-based advice to prescribers to enhance patient care and promote cost-effective use of medicines.
Supervision, mentoring and training of junior colleagues will also be a component of the role.
The post holder will provide dispensary duties and provide clinical leadership to junior pharmacists and trainees.
There will be opportunities to be involved with clinical guidelines, protocols and PGDs, financial expenditure monitoring and ensure compliance with best practice and protocols whilst undertaking quality improvement and safety audits as needed.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Post Graduate MSc/ Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent experience Member of the GPhC Experience Essential Experience as clinical pharmacist in specialist area Ability to work in a highly specialist area Desirable Proven track record of competence.
