Job summary We are looking to recruit an Adult Safeguarding Lead Practitioner into our fast paced and dynamic Team.
They are to work closely with other Named and Designated Professionals, Head of Safeguarding and the Clinical Leads for Safeguarding Adults in supporting all activities necessary to ensure that the Trust meets its statutory responsibilities in Safeguarding Adults, Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty.
To participate in the West of Berkshire Safeguarding Adults Partnership Boards activities, this may include sitting on West of Berkshire Safeguarding Group or sub committees as appropriate.
(These responsibilities should be shared with other Named and Designated Professionals).
Main duties of the job To be Trust lead for the Mental Capacity Act.
To be Trust lead for Prevent.
To support clinical staff in Royal Berkshire Foundation Trust (RBFT) and offer advice and guidance in relation to Adult Safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act and Prevent.
To advise police, social care and other agencies on health matters with regard to safeguarding adults in acute and community settings.
To be responsible for the training of hospital staff in safeguarding adults and ensure the Trust is compliant with national guidance on training standards outlined within the Intercollegiate Document for Adult Safeguarding.
To provide access to supervision for staff across the services as required.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential -Registered Practitioner (Registered with NMC, HCPC, GMC or registered Social Worker) -First degree -Teaching and Assessing qualification -Relevant Post Registration training in Safeguarding Adults or equivalent knowledge and skills.
-Evidence of further academic/ personal development -Significant leadership expertise in an acute or specialist adult service.
-Demonstrable experience in the field of Safeguarding Adults.
-Evidence of planning and delivering training to multi-disciplinary teams and groups of staff.
-Fully conversant with the national adults safeguarding agenda -Evidence of change management, development of new service and/or clinical initiatives for both professional and service delivery -Evidence of Information technology skills -Evidence of ability to write reports with varying degrees of detail and analysis.
-Ability to undertake risk assessment and analysis in relation to the provision of services -Demonstrates expert clinical skills in the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of care for vulnerable adults in an acute setting.
-Ability to work in a team -Demonstrates transformational leadership ability -Demonstrates good organisational skills.
-Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and peers -Articulate with highly developed interpersonal communication and presentation skills -Innovative and responsive to change -Demonstrates initiative, versatility and drive -Able to network and to build sound relationships with senior managers and health professionals within the Trust and external organisations Desirable -Education qualification -Accredited Post Registration training in Safeguarding Adults -Master's degree or working towards this -Project management experience -Evidence of managing multi-disciplinary clinical services -Evidence of court craft skills -Evidence of conducting investigations and providing verbal and written evidence and reports to appropriate meetings -Evidence of organising and conducting audit.
