We are looking for an innovative clinical leader with significant experience in Acute Oncology Nursing to support the ongoing development of our services. You will work alongside our Consultant Oncologists and Cancer CNSs to develop an environment that provides safe and responsive care . You will inspire, support and develop the team with shared values putting the patients at the centre of care delivery and service transformation.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder will undertake triage of the patient after referral from medical colleagues across the Trust. You will advise and support clinical colleagues on the investigation, care, and management of this group of patients affording access to faster and better care of patients with complications of cancer (early recognition, better treatment, rapid referral to other specialist teams as appropriate including oncology and palliative care).
The post holder will lead the AOS CNS team and provide line management and team leadership.
The post holder will collate and present service data at local and national meetings. They will be responsible for the establishing, delivering and leading a comprehensive AOS within the Trust in line with the National Cancer Peer Review Programme (2011).
