Tasks As a Youth Worker your role will be to support, develop and engage children and young people to develop their social and emotional capabilities and emotional wellbeing, improve their engagement with learning and to stay safe.
You will be involved in organising and delivering centre based and detached youth work across Southampton and the Eastleigh Borough delivering diversionary activities, informal learning opportunities and information and guidance around a whole range of issues.
This role requires Youth Support Workers to be confident, creative and able to adapt their sessions to a variety of environments including public outdoor spaces, youth clubs and community outreach sessions.
We have on offer part time roles - 1 to 4 evenings per week in Eastleigh / Southampton area 4 to 20 hours per week in Totton (afternoons and evenings) Requirements Experience Working with children and young people Experience of delivering a range of activities to children and young people Experience of delivering: Drug and alcohol support to young people Sexual health and healthy relationships support Leading sport and/or activity sessions Experience of working with children and young people in community and youth club settings.
Experience of planning and delivering youth work sessions to young people.
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and occasional weekends.
