We now have opportunities for 2 experienced Chefs/Cooks to join our team in the Kitchen at Dean's York Garden Centre.

As a Bothy Chef you'll be part of a supportive team - you'll get to focus on the delivery of GREAT quality food, menu discipline, get creative with specials, and you'll benefit from the support of a management team who lead on menu changes, marketing, margin controls and admin tasks.
Once service is done, you'll get to hang up your apron and enjoy work-life balance.
This roles are available straight away, with the following two work patterns:
POSITION ONE
Week One: Wed 7-4.30, Thu 7.30-4.30, Fri 7-4.30 (26.5 hours)
Week Two: Mon 7-4.30, Wed 7.30-4.30, Sat 7.30-4.30, Sun 7.30-4.30 (34.5 hours)
POSITION TWO
Week One: Mon 8-4.30, Tue 12.30-7.30, Thu 7.30-4.30, Fri 8-4.30 (31 hours)
Week Two: Tue 7.30-4.30, Fri 8-4.30, Sat 8-4.30, Sun 8-4.30 (32.25 hours)
RATE OF PAY NEGOTIABLE DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE Key Responsibilities Supporting the Head Chef in delivering excellent service.
Ensuring that all Health and Safety standards are met at all times.
Ensuring all due diligence files are completed and signed.
Contribute as necessary to the improvement/changes to the menu, production methods and environment.
Ensure that all work surfaces are clean and tidy "clean as you go " at all times and that all equipment is clean and in a safe working order.
Consistently delivering quality food in line with our standards.
Minimise waste (portion control, complaints, quality, presentation, mistakes).
Manage, train and coach new starters as necessary.
Maintain and promote excellent team working across all areas of catering.
Cleanliness of the kitchen such as deep cleaning, extraction, cookers and ovens to be of high standard always.
