This full-time, term-time-only position is available for an immediate start and will be integral to supporting our Year 6 pupils in achieving their best during this crucial stage in their primary education.
In this role, you will work closely with the class teacher, helping to deliver targeted support in both group and individual settings.
Your responsibilities will include assisting with lesson preparation, supporting students with their learning tasks, and providing additional support in areas such as literacy, numeracy, and SATs preparation.
Key Responsibilities Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons to Year 6 pupils.
Provide one-on-one and small group assistance to students, particularly in core subjects like English and Mathematics.
Help prepare pupils for their end-of-year assessments (SATs), working on targeted revision and practice sessions.
Foster a positive, encouraging learning environment that motivates students to reach their full potential.
Monitor and assess pupil progress, feeding back to the class teacher and contributing to the planning of future lessons.
Assist in classroom management and ensure all students are engaged and on-task.
About You The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with children and supporting their development, particularly during the pivotal Year 6 stage.
You should have strong communication skills, patience, and a commitment to helping students succeed academically and personally.
Essential Requirements : Experience working with primary school-aged children, ideally in a Year 6 setting.
A good understanding of the Year 6 curriculum and SATs preparation.
Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the class teacher and support team.
Desirable : Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
Previous experience working in Year 6 or KS2.
Knowledge of strategies for supporting students with different learning needs.
