Year 1 Teaching Assistant

Teaching Assistant Location: Kings Heath, Birmingham, B14 Day Rate: 90- 105 Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only) Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM Start Date: 06/01/2024 Contract: Long-Term Temp to Perm LTF Recruitment is looking for an enthusiastic and proactive teaching assistant to join a friendly Year 1 class at a primary school in Kings Heath.
This is a long-term position with the opportunity to transition into a permanent role for the ideal candidate.
Responsibilities: Support the class teacher in planning and delivering dynamic and engaging lessons.
Help pupils build essential skills in phonics, reading, writing, and mathematics.
Track and document pupil progress, sharing insights with the teacher and parents when needed.
Encourage positive behaviour and handle challenging situations in accordance with school policies.
Provide emotional and social support to nurture pupils' confidence and self-esteem.
Work with colleagues and external specialists to meet the needs of SEN or EAL pupils effectively.
What we are looking for: Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent).
Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a primary school.
Proven experience in supporting children with SEN and effectively managing challenging behaviour.
A solid understanding of safeguarding practices and child protection protocols.
Familiarity with a range of behaviour management strategies to promote positive outcomes.
