Factory/Yard Supervisor - Construction Supplier - Skelmersdale Make sure to read the full description below, and please apply immediately if you are confident you meet all the requirements.
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Factory/Yard Supervisor to lead daily operations at our Skelmersdale facility.
This role is essential to ensuring smooth, efficient, and safe production processes, as well as maintaining high-quality standards across various production lines.
The Factory Supervisor will be responsible for managing a team, coordinating production tasks, and optimizing resources to meet project deadlines.
**Key Responsibilities:** - Lead and supervise a team of production staff to meet daily output and quality targets.- Coordinate production schedules for timely completion of panel and beam processes.- Oversee tasks such as panel cleaning, concrete removal, silicone application, riveting, plastic welding, and repair/replacement of parts on beams.- Manage accessory cleaning via the tumbler machine and ensure all machinery is used safely.- Conduct regular health and safety checks, uphold safety standards, and ensure all staff comply.- Handle recruitment, training, and disciplinary processes within the team.- Operate or oversee operations involving forklifts, overhead cranes, and power tools.- Monitor production equipment and workflow, troubleshooting issues as needed.- Maintain detailed records of production data, inventory levels, and staff performance.- Promote a positive, team-focused environment that supports growth and engagement.
**Specific Tasks Involved:** - **Panels:** Clean, remove concrete, apply silicone, rivet, plastic weld, replace plugs, and ensure smooth finishes.- **Beams:** Cut, repair, straighten, re-wood/re-plastic, and rivet both dual and singular beams.- **Accessories:** Clean and prepare accessories for next stages using the tumbler machine.
**Qualifications:** - Proven supervisory experience in a manufacturing or construction environment.- Strong understanding of production processes, quality control, and safety regulations.- Effective leadership, communication, and organizational skills.- Ability to handle physical tasks (e.g., lifting, standing) and work in varied conditions (temperature changes, noise).- Certification or experience with forklifts and overhead cranes is an advantage.
