We are currently looking for a Workshop Supervisor to join our Armstrong Vehicle Centre team at our Longtown depot, previously known as Cumbria Trucks Centre.
We are now looking for a well organised, motivated and experienced Workshop Supervisor to supervise and motivate technicians.
This will involve working within shifts/teams in order to maximise available man-hours and to assist as appropriate with diagnostic/product support.
Your time will be split between working in and out of the workshop as a technician, and you will be required to demonstrate positive leadership and management skills to the team.
The hours for this role will mainly be 42.5 hours per week Monday Friday, working dayshift and backshift hours, with Saturday mornings based on a rota along with an out of hours On Call requirement.
Benefits Included A basic salary of between £44 - £46k, with the potential earnings up to £50-£55k.
Overtime rates, outside of contractual hours, paid at 1.5x or 2x basic rate On call allowance of £100 per week, with minimum call out and hours paid Life insurance Medicash benefit scheme Training and development support Responsibilities To carry out quality checks of the technicians work to enable good standard repairs are maintained at all times To assist with training and development of the apprentices including checking and sign off their work To assist technicians with problem repairs and provide technical advice where necessary Carry out vehicle inspections and repairs to VOSA standards and in line with Company procedures Perform preventative and proactive maintenance in line with manufacturers and company policy ensuring equipment is compliant with all aspects of safety and legal legislation in a cost-effective manner.
Ensuring a right first time approach is applied.
Demonstrate good diagnostic skills Produce good productivity levels in line with IMIE repair times Conduct themselves in a professional manner both on work sites and whilst driving, treating members of the public with courtesy at all times.
Maintain a clean and tidy work area and ensure all tooling and specialist equipment is checked, tested and compliant in line with company policy Completion of all specific company and official paperwork Maintain sufficient security measures to prevent theft of company/personal property during and after normal working hours Being part of the on-call roster, providing out of hours service and support inline with company Requirements Hold recognised time served training certification within the motor industry or similar engineering background and demonstrate extensive experience of working in the industry after apprenticeship/training completion.
Demonstrate good management & people skills Be a confident individual and be able to give technical advice and support Have a good understanding of transport & HSE legislation.
Ability to work well under pressure.
Ability to work well as part of a team and also under your own initiative when required.
Be a well organised individual with excellent time management.
Demonstrate a desire for self-improvement and enthusiasm to learn new skills including attending training courses both in house and external Demonstrate an understanding for warranty processes.
