We work closely with external partners and the wider community to support lifelong learning for all ages and abilities.The Adult Learning and Literacies Team offers a range of learning opportunities to help adults develop their skills and build their confidence.
English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Groups offer learners tutoring support with their English Language skills.We are currently seeking to appoint a Community Learning and Development Tutor to plan and deliver ESOL learning in West Dunbartonshire.
With an appropriate qualification, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering learning in line with the Social Practice model and Welcoming our Learners: Scotland's ESOL Strategy -.
As such, they should have an understanding of the processes used in ESOL work as well as the ability to engage with adults in a positive manner to deliver, review and evaluate learning.The post holder may also support trained volunteer tutors within a group setting.
In addition the post holder would be expected to contribute to the department's performance management processes and to self-evaluate their work.RequirementsThis post is considered as Regulated Work with Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential.
