Job Description: WMS Implementation Manager
Contract Type: Initial 12-Month Contract (with potential for permanent)
Location: Manchester
Day Rate: £300 per day
Contact: Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic WMS Implementation Manager to lead the implementation of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) across multiple projects, including within third-party logistics (3PL) environments.
This role is critical to the success of operational excellence and involves taking ownership of end-to-end WMS implementation processes.
This is an initial 12-month contract with the potential for a permanent position.
Key Responsibilities Manage the full lifecycle of WMS implementations, from requirements gathering and design to deployment and post-implementation support.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and 3PL partners to ensure seamless integration of WMS solutions.
Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets to deliver implementations on time and within scope.
Act as the primary liaison between IT teams, operational teams, and external vendors.
Work closely with 3PL providers to ensure system compatibility and optimize operational workflows.
Configure WMS systems to meet client requirements and operational needs.
Oversee testing phases, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT), to ensure system readiness and reliability.
Develop and deliver training programs for end users.
Ensure all operational processes are aligned with ITIL best practices and organizational objectives.
Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for implemented WMS solutions.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in system functionality and processes.
Key Skills & Experience Proven experience in implementing and managing a variety of WMS solutions, ideally within 3PL or multi-site logistics environments.
Strong understanding of ITIL frameworks and how to apply them to system implementations and operational processes.
Demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and budgets.
Strong problem-solving and risk management skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to manage diverse stakeholder groups.
Ability to translate technical requirements into operationally practical solutions.
Familiarity with WMS integration with ERP, TMS, and other supply chain systems.
Knowledge of data mapping, system configuration, and testing processes.
