Wilder Communities Officer - Devon Wildlife Trust

Are you a community engagement professional who is highly personable, organised and passionate about nature?Are you committed to supporting community powered change and to helping local people take action for nature in Devon?As part of our ten-year plan, Devon Wildlife Trust (DWT) has set itself an ambitious goal: by 2030, at least 1 in 4 people will be actively engaged with wildlife - we want everyone in Devon to make action for nature's recovery part of their daily life.
To achieve this, we need to mobilise communities; to inspire and enable the creation of wildlife-friendly spaces across villages, parishes, towns and cities, and to build a network of wildlife champions and conservation leaders to support nature's recovery in Devon.As a Wilder Communities Officer, you will nurture community leadership and inspire and support communities to take meaningful action for nature's recovery.
If you are a great communicator with previous relevant work experience and a deep understanding of community capacity building, then this could be the role for you.The successful candidate will become part of a friendly, ambitious and innovative team that is making a real difference for nature in Devon.This post is based at Cricklepit Mill, Exeter.Working days would be either Tuesday, Thursday and Friday or Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.We welcome candidates of all backgrounds and abilities who meet the essential criteria for this role.
