Job summary West Suffolk Dialysis Unit is one of four off-site Dialysis Units managed by Cambridge University Hospitals and is located within West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds.
We are a friendly and supportive nurse-led unit supported by our multi-disciplinary team colleagues from West Suffolk Hospital.
You will be employed by Cambridge University Hospital working in partnership with Fresenius Medical Care.
There may be the opportunity to spend time in one of our other satellite units to gain a further perspective on the role.
The 14 station satellite unit comprises of 11 operational stations and two isolation rooms, dialysing a mixture of long-term dialysis-dependent patients from in and around the surrounding area and any of our regular dialysis patients who become inpatients from West Suffolk Hospital.
The service runs from 07:00 - 23:30 Monday to Saturday.
Our shift patterns are as follows: - EARLY 07:00 AM - 15:30 LONG DAY 07:00 AM - LATE 11:00 AM - 23:30 TWILIGHT 15:00 PM - 23:30 We are not open on Sundays unless the unit needs service provision or if Christmas/ New Year's Day falls Monday - Saturday.
It is anticipated that the successful candidate can work flexibly across a variety of these shifts.
Prior experience is desirable but not essential.
We have a competency-based learning programme and an experienced team to support learning.
Main duties of the job To provide a high standard of safe individualised, holistic and evidence-based patient focused care in consultation with the patient, relatives and the multidisciplinary team.We welcome any interest and enquiries.
