Welfare Officer About the Role:Are you experienced in managing vulnerable individuals and maintaining safety standards in high-pressure environments?
We are seeking dedicated Welfare Officers to provide safeguarding support and advice to Service Users at our Wethersfield site, which provides temporary, safe accommodation.The role involves overseeing a caseload of Service Users, conducting welfare checks, room inspections, and working closely with a range of stakeholders to ensure their health, safety, and wellbeing.
You'll also be responsible for property management tasks such as conducting inspections and reporting defects.Key ResponsibilitiesService User Support: Provide direct advice, safeguarding, and support for SUs.
Conduct regular visits and welfare checks, ensure their safety, and manage their transitions to permanent housing or relocation as needed.Property Management: Oversee the maintenance of properties, conducting inspections, reporting defects, and ensuring repairs are made promptly.
Ensure properties are compliant with health and safety regulations.Collaboration: Work closely with your line manager, team members, and external support agencies to ensure seamless support for SUs.
Participate in meetings, provide cover for other staff, and contribute to team success.Emergency Response: Be available 24/7 during significant emergencies, ensuring rapid and effective responses to urgent situations.Administration & Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all activities, including property certifications, welfare checks, and communications with SUs and stakeholders.Ideal Candidate:We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in managing the wellbeing and safety of individuals, especially those who have worked in challenging environments.
Backgrounds in fields such as security services or probation, where managing vulnerable populations and upholding safety standards are key, would be highly valuable for this role.Salary: £26,215 - £40,660 per annumHours: 48 hours per week (12-hour day and night shifts, 07:00 - 19:00, 19:00 - 07:00)Benefits:25 days annual leave plus national bank holidaysWestfield Health MembershipLife Cover (2 x basic salary)Employer pension contribution (4% employer, 4% employee)Equipment provided (Laptop/Phone)Referral Scheme Job Tenure: Permanent and Full-Time Salary: £28000.00 - £40000.00 per annum Location: Braintree, Essex
