Job Description We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Weekend Care Assistant to join our team in Havant, United Kingdom.
As a Weekend Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to our clients in their homes or care facilities during weekend hours.
Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming Prepare and serve meals, ensuring dietary requirements are met Help with mobility and transfers, using appropriate equipment when necessary Administer medication as directed and maintain accurate records Engage clients in social activities and provide companionship Monitor and report any changes in clients' physical or mental condition Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients Collaborate with other care team members to ensure continuity of care Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies or unexpected situations Uphold client dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times Qualifications Compassionate and caring nature with a genuine desire to help others Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team Physical fitness to assist with mobility and personal care tasks Strong time management and organizational skills Patience and understanding when working with vulnerable individuals Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect client privacy Willingness and availability to work weekends consistently Flexibility to adapt to changing client needs and schedules Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication First aid certification (preferred) Previous experience in a similar care role (preferred) Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation may be required Additional Information Benefits of becoming a Care Professional with Home Instead: £13.20 - £14.30 per hour – double rate on bank holidays Full, award winning, paid training Free Adults Enhanced DBS Paid mileage Mentoring scheme to assist when you join Enrolment into NVQ levels if desired Opportunities for career progression Flexible zero-hour contracts available Guaranteed hours contracts available Company Pension Scheme Free 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme Blue Light Card – discounts available in a wide range of establishments EarlyPay App – allowing withdrawal of up to 50% of your earnings before payday Referral Scheme We encourage applications from all sections of the community as we want to reflect the neighbourhoods in which we work.
