SEN Teaching Assistant required on a full-time, permanent basis Inclusive primary school based in Tower Hamlets Opportunity to work 1:1 with students, supporting their learning and development in a classroom environment School Information A diverse and inclusive primary school in Tower Hamlets , catering to children aged 4 to 11 years old The school is recognized for its strong SEN provision and dedication to providing personalized support for children with a range of learning needs.
Staff and students work in a nurturing and supportive environment , with a focus on ensuring every child feels valued and empowered to succeed.
The school emphasizes a collaborative approach to education, working closely with parents and external specialists to support children's individual development.
Responsibilities Providing 1:1 or small group support to students with SEN, helping them engage with classroom activities and ensuring they have access to the curriculum.
Assisting the class teacher in differentiating learning materials and adapting teaching strategies to meet the specific needs of SEN students.
Helping students overcome learning challenges , providing emotional and academic support to enhance their confidence and independence.
Monitoring and tracking student progress, working closely with the SENCo and other staff members to contribute to individualized education plans (IEPs).
Encouraging positive behavior and fostering a safe, inclusive learning environment where students feel comfortable and supported in their learning journey.
Experience and Qualifications Experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role supporting children with additional learning needs is beneficial, but not essential.
A passion for supporting children with SEN and helping them achieve their full potential.
Patience, empathy , and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies.
Strong communication skills and a positive, proactive approach to working in a classroom setting.
A clear DBS check Legal right to work within the UK Application
