Religious Education (RE) Teacher in Portsmouth
We are delighted to partner with a highly regarded secondary school in Portsmouth, renowned for its commitment to providing a well-rounded education that fosters critical thinking and spiritual development.
They are seeking a dedicated and passionate RE Teacher to join their faculty in a full-time, permanent position starting this September.
Position Summary
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the school's flourishing RE department and inspire students to explore the diverse world of religious beliefs, practices, and ethical considerations.
The role entails:
Designing and delivering engaging RE lessons that align with the national curriculum and school's ethos, catering to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Cultivating a safe and inclusive classroom environment where students feel comfortable exploring complex and sensitive topics.
Assessing student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their learning journey.
Collaborating with colleagues within the RE department and across the wider school community to enrich the RE curriculum and contribute to extracurricular activities.
Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Religious Studies, Theology, or a related field.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification.
Proven experience teaching RE at the secondary level, ideally across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Ideal Candidate: Passionate about Religious Education and its relevance to contemporary society.
Committed to fostering critical thinking, empathy, and respect for diverse perspectives.
Possesses excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Able to create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment for all students.
