Warehouse Operative - Immediate Start - Christmas Temp

Main Responsibilities:
Goods In
Loading and unloading delivered goods
Checking that the correct quantity and type of goods have been received
Recording any damaged, missing or faulty goods
Signing the delivery form once satisfied that the delivery is complete
Storage and Stock Control
Allocating storage space to goods
Relocating and re-stacking goods to make space for new deliveries
Keeping records of goods, their location and quantity
Using a PDA handheld device to scan in and locate the products from purchase order to product location
Goods Out
Picking goods that have been ordered from printed picking list
Keeping records of goods which have been picked
Preparing dispatch notes and labels
Moving and stacking goods ready for delivery
Other Duties
Performing stock checks to ensure that current stock is correct
Entering completed shipments into the UPS World Ship system
Performing inspections on forklift (every day), racking (once a week) and ladders (as and when used)
Person Specification:
Proven experience in warehouse and distribution
Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
Good organisation skills with strong attention to detail
Strong team working skills with focus on good customer service
Proactive, hardworking and personable
