Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Sister/Charge Nurse to join our Critical Care team at East Suffolk North Essex Foundation Trust, based at Colchester Hospital.
We are looking for a highly motivated nurse who is passionate about the care of patients to join our well-established critical care team,in delivering a 24/7 service with the ability to work collaboratively in developing our future services.
The post involves delivering clinical leadership and expertise in the management of Level 2 and 3 patients, including paediatrics.
Youwill have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work confidently and collaboratively across professionalboundaries.
Main duties of the job As a Sister/Charge Nurse you will be responsible for managing a Clinical Specialist Team of registered nurses and healthcare assistants contributing to the Trusts quality and governance agenda.You will work in partnership with the other Sisters/Charge Nurses in delivering a cohesive management approach to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.Applicants must have an understanding of the current health agenda and national guidance which informs critical care practice.Applicants will be expected to undertake internal rotation and weekend duties About us We are ESNEFT and we provide hospital and community health services to almost one million people across east Suffolk and north Essex.

Person Specification Experience Essential Recent ICU experience Ability to assess and manage risks Experience of teaching and responding to learners' individual needs Teaching and facilitating education/training in informal and formal situations Desirable Experience in a variety of critical care settings.
Previous team leader experience Management/ leadership Experience Involvement in a quality improvement project and audit Qualifications Essential NMC Registered Nurse University accredited intensive care course Working as a senior band 6 Mentorship qualification Experience in mentoring staff Advanced Life Support provider (ALS) UK Resuscitation Council Knowledge Essential Knowledge of the application of evidence-based practice.
Motivates and demonstrates enthusiasm for the clinical specialty.
Understanding of clinical governance and risk assessment Experience in service improvement Desirable Developed research ability Knowledge of Quality Improvement tools, ward metrics Skills Essential Demonstrates ability to place patient and family at centre of care.
