Job summary An opportunity has arisen to join Ward 16, Elective Orthopaedics as a part time Ward Clerk on a permanent basis.
We are looking for someone who can work 3 days a week, from 7am to 3pm, between Monday to Saturday.
The post holder would need to provide a courteous, efficient and professional Ward Clerk service, making a valuable contribution to support patient care from time of admission to discharge.
The successful candidate would be the first contact point for all Ward visitors and member of the multi professional team, good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.Previous NHS clerical experience is desirable and administrative and commuter skills would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will need excellent telephone manner and must be able to deal efficiently with members of the public and all disciplines of Hospital staff.
Main duties of the job The post holder will provide a comprehensive administrative receptionist service to the department.This will include:Answering phone, adhering to confidentiality rules.Making appointments for patients.Filing notes.Input data onto computerised systems including PAS, Bluespier, EZ notes, Sunrise.Prepping notes for admission to the unit.Ordering stationary for the unit.

Job description Job responsibilities Job SummaryThe post holder will provide a comprehensive administrative/receptionistservice to the department.
This will include making appointments oncomputerised systems in accordance with agreed policies and procedures, filingof notes and inputting data required for audits.Key ResponsibilitiesUse of manual and computerised systems including PAS, Bluespier, EZnotes, Sunrise to:Maintain and check patient registration details and demographicinformationRetrieve patient informationRecord the issue and receipt of records on the PAS case note trackingsystemTo check EZ notes and ensure they are available for planned TCIsMaintain patient EZnotes folders by:Filing reports / correspondence / forms etc in an ordered manner, tofacilitate the efficient retrieval of such documentation on request.Repairing case notes foldersMaking up new folders, registering patientsOrdering stationary suppliers when requiredInputting date for auditsWorking RelationshipsInternal Consultants and junior medical staff, Nurse Practitioners,other hospital staff both within the department and outside, other healthcareprofessionals, medical secretaries, health records staff, PALS.External GP surgeries, other hospitals, patients and relatives / carersRisk AssessmentThis post involves handling medical notes and VDU work.
Individuals maybe exposed to violence and aggression.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential GCSE Pass in Maths & English Desirable Any recognised computer qualification Experience Essential Experience of working with the public.
Desirable Previous NHS experience in a clerical setting.
Experience of working with a Team.
Skills Essential Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Good organisation skills.
Ability to work as part of the Ward team, but also able to manage own workload.
Desirable Basic IT skills.
Ability to use Hospital computer systems: PAS, EZ notes, Bluespier, Sunrise.
