Job summary A brand new 13 bedded Elective Trauma & Orthopaedic ward is opening in April 2025!
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Orthopaedic Directorate at Frimley Health Foundation Trust based at Frimley Park Hospital.
We are looking to recruit Band 2 Ward Clerk to join our new Elective Orthopaedic Unit at Frimley.
The Elective Orthopaedic Unit is a brand new 13 bedded ward in Frimley Park Hospital which will run service 7 days a week.
All 13 bed spaces are isolated side rooms.
It is fast paced department catering for patients having a range of orthopaedic surgical procedures.
We are seeking to recruit a flexible, enthusiastic and organised person to provide Ward Clerking support to the FPH Orthopaedic department.
As an integral member of Orthopaedic team, you will be required to provide administrative support to the nursing staff and provide a wide range of duties ensuring an efficient service to the ward at all times.
The applicant will be expected to work well as part of a team, as well being able to multi-task, manage their own time, and prioritise workload effectively.
Main duties of the job To provide admin & clerical support to the unit and assists team in the provision of thehigh standard patient care.
To ensure that all patients and other members of the public and staff are treated in apolite and considerate manner and receive prompt attention when required.
To work as part of the ward clerk team in providing exemplary reception duties.
Thosereception duties include excellent communication skills, completion of patients'admission, discharge requirements, completing patient follow up appointments as per instruction and reviewing ward stock levels.
To maintain patient confidentiality and ensure that all documentation and computer dataentries are in line with Information Governance Guidance.
The post holder is expected to work within the Orthopaedic wards in Frimley and expected torotate as per service requirement.

Some of the key duties include: To greet patients, visitors and staff to the ward.
Provide excellent customer care service.
To deal with patient, relatives, and MDTs telephone enquiries effectively and in a courteous manner, conveying any messages clearly, promptly, and accurately.
Answer telephone calls in professional manner.
Provide general information over the telephoneas per role limitation.
Clinical concern must be referred to the nurse in charge.
Keep staff informed of admissions and discharges and ensure queries from other members of staff and members of the public are dealt with appropriately, either in personor by telephone.
Maintain accurate admission, transfer and discharge information on EPIC system.
Assist to improve patient experience questionnaire compliance.
File reports, scan correspondence, forms, etc.
in patients electronic notes in an ordered manner when required.
Upload relevant documents on EPIC media as instructed by registered staff.
Arrange transport/transfer for patient between departments and to destinations outsidethe hospital, as required.
Follow up with booking references.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential Educated to GCSE or equivalent Desirable Evidence of higher education Skills & Knowledge Essential Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) Able to organise, priortise own workload with minimal supervision Good IT skills , EPIC trained Desirable Advanced IT skills Experience Essential Experience working as a receptionist/ ward clerk.
Experience of working in fast paced environment.
