Job overview Do you have a passion for working with older people and are motivated and enthusiastic individual, we have a unique opportunity within our service for a Band Occupational Therapist to join our Team within Older Peoples' Mental Health Inpatient Ward in Peterborough.
The post will be working with older adults with both functional and organic mental health conditions.We are looking for an experienced occupational therapist to provide specialist assessments and treatments as part of a multidisciplinary team.
You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions using evidence based/best practice; we use the Model of Human Occupation which guides our practice.
Input will be delivered on an individual or group basis using meaningful graded activity to achieve occupational goals.
The post holder will be expected to participate in regular supervision and appraisal and support the management, supervision and appraisal of junior staff.
The post holder will be well supported and guided by the Occupational Therapy Lead.This role will require the post holder to be accountable for their own and delegated work and to practice within HCPC guidelines.
Main duties of the job The post holder will be expected to deliver the following: - To deliver Occupational Therapy and expertise, providing specialist Occupational Therapy interventions underpinned by the Model of Human Occupation and the principles of recovery.
To provide Occupational Therapy assessments, advice and interventions to support the patients to engage in occupational activity and increase function.To be able to act autonomously in the assessment and treatment of patients, who may have complex needs, this will include patients with a wide range of mental health conditions, including dementia.To ensure safe, efficient and effective delivery of patient focused care in line with identified evidence-based practice, local and national standards.
