Main duties of the job Do you want to work in a fast paced environment, delivering high quality care to the patients of Medway and Swale?If so, Endoscopy could be the role for you.
Endoscopy is currently due to COVID 19 a highly demanded service, and is part of an increasing capacity framework to deliver waiting list times to the constitutional standards.The team is made of up Administrative, Nursing, Consultant and Decontamination staff.
All who are responsible for delivering patient care.Medway Foundation Trust is undergoing a collaboration with Darent Valley Hospital to increase capacity into a brand new, state of the art modular Endoscopy Unit and this is an exciting time for Endoscopy.Our values are Bold, Every Person Counts, Sharing and Open and Together.

Job description Job responsibilities We are taking positive action to ensure that we can attract, recruit and retain the best talent and would welcome more applicants from under represented groups to support the Trusts commitment to a diverse, inclusive and an employer of choice workforce.All staff at Medway comply the Trusts and the Kent and Medway Safeguarding Boards policies on safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults.Adding patients to the waiting listBeing the main contact between pathway coordinators, clinicians, and patients to deliver patient careOrganising appointments for patientsRemoving patients from the waiting list in line with the Elective Access PolicyEscalating capacity issuesChanging appointments if not mutually agreedComplying with COVID 19 restrictions to deliver patient care in a safe and high quality mannerResponding to patient queriesOrganising and maintaining documentation in line with the Trusts policies and proceduresWorking as part of a team and off of own initiativeReorganising lists to maintain Emergency Endoscopy timelines on occasionTo provide a full Operational administrative service to the Endoscopy department.
To cross cover within the team in times of staff annual leave/sickness.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Educated to GCSE level including English or equivalent qualification/experience Knowledge Essential Strong working knowledge of a wide range of administrative procedures gained through training and experience in administrative posts Dealing with people and difficult situations Complex Problem solving Advanced knowledge of MS Microsoft; Excel, Word Power Point gained through training and experience.
Experience Essential At least 2 years' experience working in an Acute Hospital setting Skills Essential Evidence of skills and knowledge of performance and information processes Numerate and good analytical skills requiring a high degree of concentration Excellent range of communication skills and good interpersonal skills Able to engage with people at all levels Demonstrate excellent organisational and planning skills Ability to deal with complex facts or situations which require analysis, comparison and interpretation of a range of options.
