Job Title: Wagon Fitter Location: Manchester Salary: £31,724 per annum Permanent Opportunity At our respected client's company, they believe that people make a difference.
They are currently seeking an experienced and talented Wagon Fitter to join their dynamic team in Manchester.
This established firm is deeply rooted in the engineering, freight, and rolling stock sectors.
Job Overview: As a Wagon Fitter, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing railroad wagons to the highest possible standards.
This role demands technical acuity, a strong work ethic, and a deep commitment to safety and compliance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct thorough inspections of rolling stock equipment Carry out repairs, modifications, and overhauls as required Implement preventive maintenance programmes for all wagons Ensure all work is carried out to the highest safety and quality standards Work collaboratively with the team to meet deadlines and deliverables Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work Shift pattern: Week 1 6am till 14.30pm Mon to Thurs - Fri 6am till 13.30pm Week 2 14.00pm till 22.30pm Mon to Thurs, Fri 10.30am until 18.00pm.
Required Skills and Qualifications: Proven experience as a Wagon Fitter or similar role in the Rail Industry or as a vehicle technician or HGV mechanic Strong mechanical aptitude, with a deep understanding of wagon systems and components Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines Excellent problem-solving abilities Strong communication and teamwork skills NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant field would be advantageous Why join us?
