We have an exciting opportunity for a Legal Counsel to join our team!

What you'll get to do: Advise on operational legal issues; Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of in-house commercial contracts including but not limited to customer and supplier agreements; Advise on matters relating to the CQC as required by the organisation; Support with the collation and preparation of documents for the Coroner's Court; Advise and assist on property and development transactions, as well as general property matters; Advise on dispute resolution, debt recovery and data protection legislation; Assist with the development and management of standard templates; Stay up-to-date with changes to legislation, particularly in relation to laws, rules and regulations that directly affect the health and social care industry; Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations that apply to Voyage Care; Support the Legal Team in building and maintaining effective working relationships within the organisation and with external stakeholders to ensure the delivery of a seamless and client focussed service; Instruct external counsel, where required, to deliver legal support to a high standard and within budget; Attend courts, tribunals and Voyage Care services where required and to represent Voyage Care in negotiations and discussions with third parties in matters regarding the areas of legal practice relevant to the post; and Such other legal and practice related work as the Legal Director requires from time to time.
What we're looking for: Must be a UK qualified solicitor with at least 4 years post qualification experience working in either a reputable law firm or reputable in-house legal team.
Significant experience in at least two of the following areas: Commercial Contracts, Property, Development, Adult Social Care, Coronial Law and Data Protection.
Experience working with Local Authorities and Commissioning Authorities in the Social Care sector (desirable).
Demonstrate breadth of legal knowledge and experience.
Ability to identify and mitigate legal risk.
Ability to be agile and adapt.
Excellent legal business partnering skills and ability to develop strong relationships.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Influencing, negotiation and presentation skills.
Strong organisational skills and ability to work to set timescales, ensuring all deadlines are met.
