Applications are invited from post graduate research students of the University.
The posts will start mid-January 2025.
Accommodation and Catering ArrangementsFree accommodation is available during term time, and vacation time when participating in the duty rota.
The accommodation available is only suitable for a single person.
Breakfast, lunch and evening meals are provided Monday to Friday during term time in Hall.
DutiesSubwardens assist the Warden in the day to day running of the hall.
Duties include pastoral, disciplinary and administrative tasks as well as being involved in social aspects of hall life.
The successful applicant will be part of a team of 4 Subwardens, providing out-of-hours emergency cover for 2 halls totaling 484 students.
Subwardens are encouraged to be involved in hall life, which helps to ensure the smooth running of both halls.
Personal AttributesCandidates must display a high level of personal organisational ability, good administrative ability, leadership qualities and be sociable and a good team player.
Subwardens are expected to demonstrate a commitment to the community spirit of the Hall and a willingness to engage with students and hall life in general.
It is very important to find out what you are committing yourself to and to understand what is involved.
All applicants are required to find out more about the hall community as it forms an integral part of the selection process.
The successful applicant must be available to attend Subwarden training sessions and undertake first aid, mental health first aid and fire safety training when the courses are available.
