Vmware Specialist - Infrastructure Architect +Permanent opportunity +Location: Basingstoke - on site work +Candidates must hold SC or DV Clearance Right to work: UK Eyes only (Due to the nature of projects, candidates cannot hold Dual Nationality, or any overseas cards or Visa's) As a VMware Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the creation of an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platform using VMware technologies including vRealize Orchestrator (VRO), VMware Cloud Director (VCD), and NSX-T. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect, deploy, and optimize virtualized environments tailored to meet the specific needs of our clients.
Your transferable skills and experience: Design and implement VMware-based IaaS solutions according to client requirements and industry best practices.
Configure and optimize VMware vRealize Orchestrator (VRO) workflows for automating provisioning, deployment, and management tasks.
Deploy and manage VMware Cloud Director (VCD) instances, including resource pools, organizations, virtual data centers, and networking.
Implement and configure NSX-T for software-defined networking and security within the virtualized environment.
Collaborate with infrastructure and operations teams to integrate VMware solutions with existing systems and technologies.
Provide technical expertise and support during the testing, troubleshooting, and resolution of issues related to VMware infrastructure.
Develop and maintain documentation, including architectural diagrams, standard operating procedures, and technical guides.
Stay updated on emerging VMware technologies, trends, and best practices to drive continuous improvement and innovation Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Proven experience designing, implementing, and managing VMware-based virtualization solutions, with a focus on vRealize Orchestrator (VRO), VMware Cloud Director (VCD), and NSX-T. In-depth knowledge of virtualization concepts, VMware vSphere architecture, and related technologies.
Hands-on experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation and customization of VMware environments.
Strong understanding of software-defined networking (SDN) principles and experience with NSX-T configuration and management.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative Agile team environment and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
VMware certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) are highly desirable.
