£65,000 DOE, plus up to £3,000 Relocation Allowance Support and growth with South Wales Vets Here at South Wales Vets, Newport we are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our team. The role will include a nice mixture of consults and surgery (1-2 set surgery days per week) and you will have plenty of time to work up cases allowing for case continuity. You will get the opportunity to see emergency cases and carry out complicated surgeries whilst being supported by our experienced team.

Typically, the full-time position 40 hours across 4 days with 1:4 Saturdays and no OOH. We would also welcome part time applicants, for example a 3-day week.
Our talented team (Surgery & Medicine certificate holders) Our team of Vets, RVNs and supporting team members at Newport are led by our 2 CDs who have over 14 years' experience (surgery certificate holder & orthopaedic interest) and Practice Manager. Our Clinical Directors are readily available to assist with clinical cases and advice. CPD and further learning is actively encouraged and supported.
Across the group, we have a total support network of 2 CDs, Senior Vet (surgery certificate holder), 8 Vets (including an internal medicine certificate holder), 20 RVNs, Practice Manager & other supporting team members.
Our newly refurbished practice South Wales Vets was established over 10 years ago on Malpas Road in Newport and in that time we have grown from one to four branches, with locations in Risca, Abertillery & Blackwood. Here at Newport, the cost of living in South Wales is considerably cheaper than some of the big cities and we are not only close to Cardiff which is an incredible city with amazing pubs and restaurants but also close to the Brecon Beacons national park. There is excellent transport links around Newport and train ride to Cardiff is no more than 20 minutes. We can offer you the feel of a big city without the cost that often comes with living in a big city.
Our equipment with a superior surgery suite Our practice has recently been fully refurbished and brand new. We take orthopaedic referrals from the local area. We have created a good environment to work in and are always open to input from the team to drive improvement and the practice forward. We have in house labs, digital x-ray and a new modern ultra -sound machine.
