Please log into Workday and click on Menu or View All Apps, select the Jobs Hub app, then click the magnifying glass to Browse Jobs.Veterinary Laboratory AssistantWarwick, UK Antech Diagnostics are looking for a Veterinary Lab Assistant to join our state-of-the-art veterinary laboratory based in the Leamington Spa area.This opportunity would be well suited to you if you have previous experience as a Veterinary Lab Assistant (VLA), a Medical Lab Assistant (MLA) or experience working within specimen reception.This is a full-time position with shifts starting between 5am – 6am, across Monday - Friday with a Saturday rota.
Salary is between £24,000 - £26,000.
Key responsibilities include:Accurately process standard requisitions per approved procedures.Remove specimens from transport bags, enter patient, client and specimen data, label specimens and aliquot as needed.Sort specimens for distribution throughout the lab including staining, cover slipping and digital scanning of cytology submissions.Ensure Turnaround Times (TATs) are met.Support SPR, blood sciences and microbiology teams in day to day operations.Comply with appropriate specimen storage requirements.Maintain inventory of specimens after testing has been completed.
Ensure all specimens are accounted for.Retrieve and prepare add-ons and rechecks.Read, understand and follow applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Perform all required quality control per QA guidelines.Comply with laboratory Health and Safety procedures.Maintain clean and organised work area.
Restocks supplies as needed.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Proven laboratory experience ideally within a veterinary or clinical settingExperience in haematology and chemistry is highly desired.Attention to detailOrganised with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamBasic math, interpretive and analytical skills.Personal computer skills, strong typing ability, and proficient in Microsoft OfficeStrong data processing skillsAbout Antech? is a leader in veterinary diagnostics, driven by our passion for innovation that delivers better animal health outcomes.
