You would be working internally as part of our experienced Production Management Team as our official Deputy Centre Veterinarian with regular updates on the latest genetic advances and technology.
You will be providing veterinary advice and support to our dedicated livestock team, the laboratory and distribution teams and work alongside our skilled support staff and genetics team.
When away from Beachin you will work with our committed partner farms who are responsible for breeding the next generation of bulls as part of our global genetic breeding programs.
You will monitor and advise on their herd health and biosecurity plans, and inspect and test prospective sires for our Stud.
We are seeking a highly professional Veterinarian to join Cogent Breeding to work within our UK Vet team.
This is a unique livestock based role which harnesses specialist bovine health and biosecurity knowledge, it is a team based role with excellent in-house support, working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
Training and ongoing support for your role will be provided by the current Company Vet of 20 years.
This role would suit a practicing Livestock or Mixed Practice Vet looking for a change in career direction whilst utilizing your experience and knowledge.
Key Responsibilities: Deputy center vet supervising responsibilities for Cogent Breeding licensed sites (following comprehensive training and full support from the Centre Vet) Provide onsite clinical work, fertility exams, biosecurity advice and health test protocols and interpretation as required Providing technical guidance to colleagues and/or customers in matters of cow health and fertility Semen certification – export & domestic semen movements and vet support documentation On farm clinical examinations of new donor sires to include semen assessment where appropriate Supervision of sire pre-entry process & veterinary liaison with breeder herds as per our protocols.
