Job Title: Vehicle Fitter Location : Kidderminster Hours: 39 hours per week, Monday to Thursda Salary: £11.45-£12.64 Dependent on experience and qualifications (includes bonus scheme, pension, and AXA health scheme) Basis: Permanent Duties: Support the Production Manager in ensuring a high standard of Refuse and Recycling vehicles are developed and built.
Read and interpret technical drawings and carry out work in accordance with supplied build packs.
Operate power tools, hydraulics, and electrics, and carry out MIG welding (desirable).
Work efficiently to meet build process deadlines and produce finished products on time.
Raise issues during the build process, document any changes, and actively capture information to standardise future builds.
Coordinate with sub-contractors (e.g.
Camera, Weigh) on-site, monitoring progress and ensuring timely appointments.
Assist with finalising paperwork and preparations for vehicle inspections and testing.
Maintain high standards of housekeeping and ensure safe working practices at all times.
Perform other duties as required in line with company needs.
Requirements: Mechanical knowledge, ideally from commercial vehicles, plant hire, or the body building industry.
Strong ability to work with power tools, hydraulics, and electrics, and a willingness to learn MIG welding.
Good understanding of time management and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Excellent organisational and administration skills, with attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures.
