With a wide network of employees and numerous opportunities to join one of our many offices, we are a top ten accountancy firm in the UK and the largest SME practice.Your new roleAs a Manager, you will work closely with the VAT Partners and Directors as a key member of the team in Scotland.
Your responsibilities will include managing a client portfolio with significant client responsibility, overseeing your team's portfolios, and delivering high-quality VAT consultancy services.
You will also support, develop, and review the work of junior team members and graduates, and collaborate with other areas of the business, such as Direct Tax, Employment Tax, and Business Advisory teams.
Additional duties will arise as needed to support local partners.What you'll need to succeedTo be successful in this role, you should have extensive VAT experience, whether in accountancy firms, industry, or HMRC.
You should be self-sufficient with minimal input from senior staff, take proactive responsibility for managing clients and work, and handle your own portfolio, including more complex or higher-risk clients.
You must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
An in-depth, current knowledge of VAT and the ability to handle complex issues is essential.
You should also have experience in project and staff management, the ability to manage a client portfolio profitably, and experience dealing with senior client management and HMRC.
